# Dublicator — Developers

REST API, API keys, quickstart, and sandbox environment.

## Get an API key

Free at [get-key](/get-key) — no credit card required.

## Base URL

`https://dublicator.online`

## Authentication

Send your API key as a Bearer token:

```http
Authorization: Bearer <api-key>
```

Machine-readable auth metadata: [oauth-protected-resource](/.well-known/oauth-protected-resource) (RFC 9728) and [authorization-server](/.well-known/oauth-authorization-server) (RFC 8414).

## Endpoints

| Method | Path | Description |
|--------|------|-------------|
| POST | `/v1/fork` | Fork copy into a new profile (url, profile, language_layer) |
| GET | `/v1/profiles` | Available profiles + the four language layers |
| GET | `/health` | Service health |
| GET | `/metrics` | Per-endpoint access counts |
| POST/GET | `/ask` | NLWeb natural-language endpoint |

Full machine-readable spec: [openapi.json](/openapi.json).

## Sandbox

Add the `X-Sandbox: true` header to exercise the API against sample output without touching production.

```bash
curl -H "X-Sandbox: true" -X POST https://dublicator.online/v1/fork \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"url":"https://example.com","profile":"enthusiast","language_layer":"everyday"}'
```

## Quickstart

```bash
# 1. Get a free key at https://dublicator.online/get-key
# 2. List profiles
curl -H "Authorization: Bearer $DUBLICATOR_API_KEY" \
  https://dublicator.online/v1/profiles
```

## Install the skill

The core product ships as an agent skill — the agent IS the engine:

```bash
npx skills add axelfreeman/dublicator
```

## SDKs

- Python: `pip install dublicator-sdk`
- JavaScript: `npm install @dublicator/sdk`

## MCP server

Use Dublicator as an MCP server — see [mcp.md](/mcp.md) or connect to `https://dublicator.online/mcp`.
